About Institute Innovation Council

The Institute's Innovation Council of the college was established in 2022. The IIC plays a crucial role in enriching students' educational experiences by fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It provides a platform for students to explore and apply their skills, offering workshops, mentorship, and resources. The council encourages a culture of critical thinking, skill development, and networking, contributing to students' overall development and preparing them for real-world challenges. Through initiatives like incubation support, competitions, and collaboration with industry partners, the council nurtures a dynamic environment that empowers students to transform ideas into tangible outcomes, enhancing their academic and professional journeys.

Objectives

βœ” Meet once a quarter to formalize discussions and outline action points for activities in the upcoming quarter, with regular updates.

βœ” Identify the best of ideas and provide them with a β€˜womb’ to incubate, eventually transforming into a Startup or entrepreneur endeavor.

βœ” Foster entrepreneurship by applying both academic and industrial knowledge and expertise.

βœ” Empower ideas with the necessary ingredients and resources to aid their transformation into successful products or services.

βœ” Support entrepreneurs to grow holistically with business acumen.

βœ” Drive socio-economic change in the country by finding innovative solutions to everyday problems.

4. Functions of IIC

βœ” To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in a time-bound fashion.

βœ” Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.

βœ” Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.

βœ” Organize periodic workshops / seminars / interactions with entrepreneurs, investors and professionals, creating a mentor pool for student innovators.

βœ” Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.

βœ” Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by the institution's faculty and students.

βœ” Organize hackathons, idea competitions, mini-challenges,etc., with the involvement of industries.

5. Roles & Responsibility of the IIC

The roles and responsibility of different members of IIC at Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College is defined as follows:

5.1. Staff Representation:

5.1.1. President:

βœ” The President will constitute the IIC council and appoint its members.

βœ” The President is responsible for ensuring that the Quarterly Council Meeting is planned effectively.

βœ” The President will conduct council meetings in accordance with prescribed rules, ensuring that matters are dealt with in an orderly and efficient manner.

βœ” The President will lead the IIC Council, have the IIC portal login ID, and will be the custodian of the IIC portal login and the data/reports uploaded therein.

βœ” The President will call the meetings, set the meeting agenda, and monitor the deliverables.

βœ” The President will be the main point of contact with MHRD Innovation Cell.

βœ” The President will respond to all communications from the IIC National Coordination team (MHRD Innovation Cell) and will be responsible for ensuring the decent performance of the IIC.

βœ” The President will coordinate with the MHRD Innovation Cell and be responsible for all IIC activities in the institute.

βœ” The President will ensure the Institution's participation in IIC calendar activity and take lead in the institution-driven activities (own initiatives).

βœ” The President will ensure the effective implementation of IIC activities with the help of the Convenor.

βœ” The President can change council members based on decisions made in council meetings and update the information on the portal.

5.1.2. Convenor / President

βœ” The Convenor / President will ensure the effective implementation of IIC activities as decided by the council.

βœ” The Convenor / President will also propose new ideas for the effective functioning of the council from time to time.

5.1.3. Innovation Activity Coordinator

βœ” The Innovation Activity Coordinator will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the Innovation ecosystem at ITH.

βœ” The Innovation Activity Coordinator will be responsible for implementing innovation-related activities at the College.

5.1.4. Startup Activity Coordinator

βœ” The Startup Activity Coordinator will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the startup ecosystem at the college.

βœ” They will also be responsible for implementing startup-related activities at the college.

5.1.5. Internship Coordinator

βœ” The Internship Coordinator will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to encourage internship opportunities for the students of our college.

βœ” They will also be responsible for implementing activities to improve internship opportunities at the college.

5.1.6. IPR Coordinator

βœ” The IPR Coordinator will be responsible for promoting awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and conducting related activities on campus, as mandated in IIC council meetings.

5.1.7. NIRF Coordinator

βœ” The NIRF Coordinator will suggest points of improvement in line with the requirements of the NIRF Ranking to the council.

5.1.8. Innovation Ambassador

βœ” The Innovation Ambassador will promote and facilitate the implementation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I & E) activities at the college.

βœ” They will train faculty and students in Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the effective implementation of I & E activities, in line with the training provided by the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) MIC.

5.1.9. Social Media Coordinator

βœ” The Social Media Coordinator will act as the secretary for the council, prepare minutes of meetings, and be responsible for submitting monthly progress/activity reports on the IIC portal.

βœ” They will also promote I & E activities coordinated by the IIC at the college on the college’s social media platforms.

βœ” Additionally, they will share relevant updates from the social media platforms with the IIC.

5.2. Expert Representation:

5.2.1. IP Expert / Patent Expert

βœ” Assisting and conducting prior art searches in respective technology domains.

βœ” Liaison with an IP attorney office for filing national & international patent applications.

βœ” Assisting in patentability searches for inventions and research proposals.

βœ” Conducting awareness and training programmes on IPR and its allied topics.

βœ” Coordinating the IIT-H Patent database and categorizing various stages of its prosecution.

βœ” Conducting freedom-to-operate searches for prototypes.

βœ” Managing the Orbit-Express patent search database as an admin.

βœ” Performing Patent landscaping for business development.

βœ” Drafting and vetting technology patentability assessment reports.

βœ” Exploring opportunities for technology transfer and related activities.

βœ” Handling and uploading of the institute's innovations to the Yukti 2.0 portal as an IP Expert / Patent Expert.

5.2.2. Startup / Alumni Entrepreneur

βœ” They will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the startup / entrepreneurship ecosystem at the College.

βœ” They will also be responsible for implementing startup-related activities at the college.

5.2.3. Expert from nearby Industry / Industry association / Ecosystem Enablers

βœ” They will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the startup / entrepreneurship ecosystem at the College.

βœ” They will also be responsible for implementing startup-related activities at the college.

5.2.4. FI / Bank Investor / Angel Investor / VC

βœ” They will assist the team at the college with the idea of fund generation and its effective utilization.

5.2.5. Incubation Centre

βœ” They will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the Startup / entrepreneurship ecosystem at the College.

βœ” They will also be responsible for implementing startup-related activities at the college.

5.3. Student Representation:

βœ” They will act as a liaison between the student community and the IIC.

5.3.2. Innovation Activity Coordinator

βœ” They will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the innovation ecosystem at the college.

βœ” They will act as a liaison between the student community and the IIC.

βœ” They will understand the concepts, ideas, and methods of participation in IIC activities and disseminate this information to all students.

βœ” They will act as a volunteer for IIC programs and support the IPR faculty coordinator in conducting events and awareness programs on IPR.

5.3.5. Social Media Coordinator

βœ” They will promote the β€œI & E” activities coordinated by the IIC at the college on the social media platforms used by the college's students.

βœ” They will share relevant updates from the social media platforms with the IIC.

βœ” They will be responsible for bringing ideas to the council to promote the startup/entrepreneurship ecosystem at the college.
